MedHacks is the largest healthcare hackathon in the world hosting 400+ clinicians, engineers, data scientists, and students annually! The upcoming Virtual Fall 2020 event will take place the weekend of September 4th-6th where we will be tackling pressing medical issues at the intersection of medicine, tech, and entrepreneurship. We'll have a variety of speakers and workshops including Will Robbins from Contrary Capital, Po-Shen Loh founder of NOVID and professor at CMU, and Google Cloud. We're offering $3,500+ in prizes and tons of high quality opportunities for mentorship and networking. This is a fantastic opportunity to interact with physicians and industry sponsors, connect with students from across the globe and be a part of one of the largest annual events on campus. Hack for the People is an intercollegiate hackathon designed to engage students in tackling some of the world’s largest problems. We are committed to offering attendees the resources and opportunity to innovate solutions along the four hackathon tracks: political, economic, socio-cultural, and environmental. Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate on projects with students from all around the world, be mentored by experts, hear from keynote speakers, and win prizes ranging from internship and job opportunities to a donation to a charity of your choice.  Registration is free and now open ! Pear Ventures is launching Round 2 applications for  Pear Summer 2018 !  Pear will be investing $250-500k in up to 5 teams and committing to working side by side with selected teams to get their companies to the next stage.  Applications are open until May 18, 2018! Over the last four years, Pear has run a successful 10 week Pear Summer program for students and recent graduates. This year, they will be investing $250-500k in up to 5 teams and committing to working side by side with the founders to get the company to the next stage. Additional benefits include $350k in free perks, free office space, mentorship from world-class founders and operators, access to top-tier investors and more. No company is too early and the only requirement is that at least one team member should have been enrolled in a university sometime in the past 3 years. WHAT DataFest is a celebration of data in which teams of undergraduates work around the clock to find and share meaning in a large, rich, and complex data set. The students are assisted by roving consultants who are graduate students, faculty, and industry professionals. After two days of intense data wrangling, analysis, and presentation design, each team is allowed a few minutes and no more than two slides to impress a panel of judges. Prizes are given for: > Best in show > Best visualisation  > Best use of external data Each individual in the winning teams will receive $500.
