Google Scholarships 2018

Google has a number of scholarship programs aimed at students who are underrepresented in computing. Their objective is to inspire and help students become future leaders in computing and technology by breaking down the barriers that prevent them from entering these fields. If selected, scholarship  recipients will each receive a $5,000 CAD scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic year and be invited to attend the annual Google Scholars' Retreat at  the Googleplex next summer. Are you interested in helping teens develop coding skills?

There are several high schools in our area that would like to offer computer programming clubs for their students but need help. They have a teacher who is willing to handle the administrative aspects * of running a club, but need somebody with programming expertise to teach coding skills. We are running a pilot project this fall to connect volunteers and schools. If you have programming skills and would like to volunteer, please come to our information session : When : October 18. Tour of Google at 6pm, information session at 7pm.
