Research Experience Opportunity -- Fall 2023. (* Applications due in mid August *)

The School of Computer Science is running an  Early Researcher Experience Program (EREP)  that aims to provide an earlier exposure to research to students (e.g., in their first or second year), and to increase the number of women and gender-marginalized students who pursue research-focused graduate degrees in computing.   The best way to think of the EREP program is as an enhanced URA program. Student participants will  Work on a research project in a group of 2 or more students, with a graduate student mentor or faculty member.  Attend an online research methods course. This course will be a weekly, 2-hour, virtual, synchronous meeting that will be interactive. Assessments will ask the students to practice research skills in the context of their research project. The workload for the student will be 8-10 hours a week for 10 weeks (so the time commitment is higher than for a normal URA). You can either get course credit for their participation (CS 399 Read
