The award is not merit based and is open to both undergraduate and graduate students in all programs. In addition to $20,000 from CIBC to use for school or student debt, it contains a whole host of other awards that make a student’s life easier such as a $7,500 scholarship from Scholarships Canada and an award for four years of textbooks. Usability Testing: a hands-on testing workshop on multiple screen sizes Are you a UX Designer who is new to usability testing? Wondering how to upgrade your skills? On November 4 from 3-5pm at the Design Exchange, Usability Matters will be running a workshop to teach you the skills to test your own designs on desktop, tablet and mobile devices. In this workshop, Usability Matters UX designers  Adie Margineanu ,  Dale McRae ,  Nick Crampton  and  Linn Vizard  will teach you how to critically analyze a website, how to conduct a usability test, and how to avoid common mistakes when designing for the web. CONNECT: EnAbling Change is a provincial, post-secondary design competition exploring design that is accessible to the greatest number of people, to the largest extent possible, regardless of their age or ability, across all design disciplines. Open to all Ontario post-secondary students in ALL design fields, project ideas that remove barriers for people with disabilities and promote greater inclusion are welcome. Inclusive digital, interactive and web design projects are encouraged. Winners receive up to $2,000 and have their work included in an exhibition at Design Exchange in Toronto! Deadline: April 1, 2015
