New UWaterloo Cybersecurity CTF Team - Demo today!

UWaterloo is starting a new cybersecurity team on traditional (i.e. cloud systems) and embedded systems (cars, trucks, medical devices, airplanes, UAVs, satellites, etc.). We're holding an info session and a first demo of some attack tools on Wednesday Oct 23 from 5:30-7pm in E5-4105. The first session will include a presentation going over some common network security exploits and the steps from identifying a vulnerable target all the way to attacking the target. A live demonstration of an attack on an insecure virtual machine will then follow. Members of UWaterloo’s cybersecurity team will be around to answer any questions about competing in cybersecurity competitions and the new team.
