Part time employment at the Geospatial Centre

JOB SUMMARY/ACCOUNTABILITIES: This position entails refining and migrating an existing full stack web map search application. The components our site is built with are React, Node.JS, Nginx, MongoDb, Postgres in a Linux environment. The project is stored on the UW GIT. Our primary goal is to migrate from AWS to our local servers, then fix/improve the site and re-deploy it to the public. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual that is open to expanding and honing their development skills on a web site that presents large historical datasets in an easy to use online map/search format. On average, casual staff can expect to work six to ten hours per week, scheduled between 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday. BIOME project by Novartis - deadline extended to October 15

  The BIOME Summit Student Challenge is a competition launched by Novartis, and the objective is to find solutions and innovative approaches to tackle cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in Canada. More specifically, the goal is to answer the following question: What is your recommended marketing plan to increase public awareness and urgency to act on cholesterol management and CVD? In order to participate, students simply have to create a team of 2/3 people and submit a short 5-10 slide presentation before October 15 (deadline previously September 26) - that’s it! The first 20 teams to submit a project will receive 50 CAD worth of Amazon credits per team member. Seeking coder/programmer to develop a phone app for research at the University of Guelph

Seeking student with coding skills to program a phone application on both Android+Apple mobile devices that will prompt the user randomly to answer a few questions about emotions. The app will also communicate with a wearable device. It is expected that changes in physiological markers measured by the wearable device will trigger the app to prompt the user to answer questions. Wireframe will be provided. Work is to begin as soon as a suitable candidate is identified.
