Team Waterloop Opportunity

Waterloop is recruiting for Spring 2023. We are a student-led design team under the Faculty of Engineering, having built 5 Hyperloop pods and working towards unveiling a full-scale Hyperloop demonstration. Our software teams allow students to practice and grow their skills through firmware and web development. The Firmware team is responsible for developing all the code necessary for the pod to function, such as initiating the braking system or battery management system. The Web team is responsible for designing and maintaining a diverse range of applications used to increase Waterloop’s outreach and enhance daily operations. Our current portfolio consists of our main website, a content management system, an applicant tracking system and a member profile application. We are looking to expand our team by recruiting students experienced with coding and interested in firmware development and/or web maintenance. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Firmware and Web teams.

Hudson River Trading Tech Summit Announcement

Hudson River Trading is thrilled to announce that they are hosting a virtual tech summit on August 16, 2023! The summit aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the world of automated trading to underrepresented communities, specifically Black and Latinx candidates. Through talks and panels, attendees will get an inside look at what it’s like to work in quantitative finance, learn about the interesting technical problems they tackle on a daily basis, and get insights on how to land a job in this exciting field. Additionally, they have exclusive swag waiting for you! While individuals from all underrepresented communities are welcome to express their interest in attending, please note that they are specifically encouraging those who identify as Black or Latinx to apply.  Attending this summit does not require prior knowledge of finance, only an interest in learning! Hackathon opportunity for students

  Gadget is a fully remote  hackathon   from May 13-20, and is focused around new innovations in Shopify apps. It is free to join, and all levels of developers are welcome. It is an excellent way for students to break into the Shopify ecosystem without the daunting task of having to start from scratch. There are $5,000 worth of prizes to win, and we will be providing free workshops leading up to the event for those new to Shopify apps.
