We are Techneeq Training and we aim to build a company out of the velocity foundry in which our vision is to create a personalized, accelerated sports training program in which you can track and measure performance metrics. We aim to build software and hardware tools to create this experience, starting with soccer and expanding to all sports. We are looking for software engineers to develop a UI, data collection process and sports analytics. The Department of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan seeks a postdoctoral fellow in the area of image processing and computer vision to take a central role in an international research project funded by the Digging into Data ( http://www.diggingintodata.org ) program.   The postdoctoral fellow will be part of the Digging into Archaeological Data: Image Search and Markup (DADAISM) project which is comprised of an international group research teams in three countries.   The DADAISM project seeks to improve the searchability of databases of archaeological images in a manner that facilitates the use cases of archaeological researchers.     The project goals of the DADAISM project are: 1. From the Software Engineering department: We invite you to 5th Annual Capstone Design Project Symposium for the Software Engineering Program at University of Waterloo.  More than 90 Software Engineering students will present 22 design project prototypes that solve problems in the general areas of software including brain simulation, mobile apps, cloud computing, entertainment, music, security, and artificial intelligence. Students will exhibit innovative projects, such as using parallelization to improve the speed of Nengo brain simulation ( http://nengo.ca/ ), adding integrity protection to an encrypted file system in the Linux kernel, and a website for students to plan courses with friends (has already been used by over 4,000 UW students). As you know, concerns around mental health are prominent on campus and within the Faculty. The UW Drama program will present  From Solitary to Solidarity , a show about the life and death of Ashley Smith, in the second part of March.  You may have heard of Ashley Smith, a young woman  who died at Grand Valley Institution for Women in 2007. The UWFA Trading Challenge allows students to practice trading in a dynamic, competitive, and risk-free environment. The Rotman Interactive Trader (RIT) software provided in the M3 Finance Lab will be used to simulate real-time trading amongst the participants. The three most profitable traders will receive $100 in prizes courtesy of Bloomberg. The event will be held in M3 2103 at 6:00pm on Thursday March 13th . Two representatives from Bloomberg Trading Systems will be in attendance, and will be providing FREE BLOOMBERG SWAG. The challenge will consist of three cases, each run 4 times (12 total simulations). The trader with the highest average P&L rank in each case will be the winner for that case. The first half-hour of the event will consist of practice rounds to get students familiar with order-types, trading strategies, and the RIT software.
