Volunteers Requested - Computer Graphics Study on the perception of geometric arrangements

Department of Computer Science, University of Waterloo

PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR RESEARCH IN 2D Graphics

Hello,

My name is Zainab AlMeraj. I am a PhD student at Computer Graphics Lab in
the School of Computer Science. I am working under the supervision of
Professor Craig S. Kaplan.

We are seeking research participants for a study that involves one session
lasting between 45 and 60 minutes.

During the session you will be asked to complete two tasks. The first task
involves sorting a number of arrangements on small cards into a number of
piles. The arrangements are composed of four sets. For each set there is a
sample image and eleven larger samples. You will be asked to pile the
images according to your own criteria. The piles you make will be recorded
for reference and analysis.

The second task involves a comparison task in which you choose one of two
images of different sets of arrangements using a mouse and a computer
screen.

All your information and data will remain confidential.

In appreciation for your time you will receive a Tim Hortons gift
certificate worth $15.

Participants who have previously completed an earlier phase of this work
are requested not to contact or take part in this phase of the study. Your
understanding to this matter is much appreciated.

This study was reviewed and received ethics clearance through the Office
of Research Ethics.
