National Bank Financial Markets (“NBF”) is a full-service, fully-integrated investment dealer with a strong national presence and international capabilities. The firm is seeking an Associate Analyst who will work directly with the firm’s ETFs & Financial Products Research team. This position requires an ambitious and self-motivated individual who is comfortable in an unstructured, demanding and high pressure environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop in-depth understanding of ETFs (Exchange-traded Funds) and other financial products
  • such as options, structured products, and forwards
  • Provide research support to retail and institutional clients, companies and sales and trading staff
  • Assist in writing and editing research notes, reports and analyst presentations, and participate in
  • meetings and presentations
  • Maintain financial product database and in-house analytical models


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced computer skills including Excel VBA, Java, Python, and SQL
  • Database management, portfolio performance or risk management abilities is an asset
  • Excellent numerical and analytical abilities
  • Excellent English business writing skills
  • Bilingualism (spoken/written) English and French an asset


EDUCATION:

  • Achieved outstanding academic performance
  • Course work or work experience in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • Master degree or MBA are preferred
  • CFA designation or enrolment in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program is an asset
