We
are looking for volunteers to take part in a study of a crowdsourced image
classification platform. If you decide to volunteer, you will be asked to
create an account on the platform, fill out a 5-minute online demographic
survey, then you will be allowed to interact freely with the platform for the
next 7 days. During this period, you will be asked to complete as many image
classification microtasks as you wish. At the end of the study period, we will
ask you to fill out a final 10-minute online survey, in which we will ask your
feedback about your experience with this platform.
Participation in this study is voluntary. In
appreciation for your time, you can enter your name into a draw for one of two
USD $ 200 international Visa gift cards. You will be able to enter the draw
with up to two tickets: you will enter one ticket after completing the initial
demographic survey and completing the first microtask, and a second ticket
after completing the follow-up survey at the end of the study period.
This study has been reviewed and received ethics
clearance through a University of Waterloo Research Ethics Committee (ORE
#31819).
