Term Computer Science Lecturer Position at The University of British Columbia

Computer Science – Lecturer | Competition COSC-2014C

The Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan
Campus, invites applications for a 1-year term appointment as lecturer without review in Computer Science. The position is renewable for up to 3 years and has a start date of August 1, 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applicants must have a Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, relevant
post-secondary teaching experience, and evidence of ability and commitment to teaching
excellence. The lecturer will teach courses in the undergraduate program, including first-year
introduction to computer science for both arts and science majors. The successful candidate will
be expected to bring innovation to such teaching, coordinate undergraduate and graduate
teaching assistants, and perform additional duties in service to the unit.

The reviewing of applications will begin July 12, 2014, and continue until the position is
filled. All appointments are subject to budgetary approval.
