Who should participate?

Anyone under 36 years old interested in healthcare entrepreneurship.

We welcome applicants from all disciplines and ideas at all stages of development – from conceptual stage through to those seeking venture capital backing. Moreover we encourage applicants to recruit other scientists, engineers, business students, lawyers, and anyone else with talent, motivation and an interest in healthcare to join your team by browsing our

How does it work?

Simply fill out our 2-page
application form. There is no cost to apply. You can check out this link on our Top 5 Tips for reaching the semi-finals for help in structuring your application.

Applications will be reviewed throughout December 2015 and the 35 teams selected for the semi-finals will be invited to attend a two-day Bootcamp in San Francisco on February 19th and 20th, 2016. At the Bootcamp teams will engage in lectures, workshops, practice pitch sessions to healthcare investors and networking opportunities with our mentors and partners.


Each team will also receive 8 weeks of individual mentorship from an industry expert to build out a detailed business plan. The program ends with the Finals Gala in Boston on May 25th, 2016, at which 10 exceptional finalist teams will compete for the grand prize ($150k and free lab space).

WatPD is currently seeking graduate students to mark reports for PD2: Critical Reflection and Report Writing from late-March to early-April. Students in this course must write a 16-20 page report which is worth 50% of their final grade. With over 1500 reports expected to be submitted, we need your help!
