Lecture: From fixing the women to liberating the men.

Jennifer Berdahl from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia is visiting U. Waterloo March 29-31 and is giving a university-wide presentation on Wednesday, March 30th on gender in organizations. Dr. Berdahl is the first Montalbano Professorship in Leadership Studies: Women and Diversity at UBC’s Sauder School of Business, and is an internationally recognized scholar in the field of gender in organizations. She has advised Canadian parliament and informed Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg in her bestseller Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead. 

In her talk, Dr. Berdahl will examine how various organizations have attempted to deal with gender – from trying to “fix” the women to changing the way that everyone thinks about men and women. Her impressive and influential research has shown that organizations that successfully integrate women are more successful than their competitors.

Grad students needed to mark reports for PD2

WatPD is currently seeking graduate students to mark reports for PD2: Critical Reflection and Report Writing from late-March to early-April. Students in this course must write a 16-20 page report which is worth 50% of their final grade. With over 1500 reports expected to be submitted, we need your help!
