Project Overview

Start/End Date

·         Start date: 1/11/2021 – 1/29/2021

·         End date: 5/17/2021 – 5/28/2021

What Have We Done So Far?

We have created the mainframe of Younite360, including the user interface for individual profiles and the user dashboard. Additionally, we have also begun working on installing a couple of apps and widgets on the website, such as the calendar widget.

What Do We Need?

Project Name: Younite360 for business users, creating online stores

Project Description

For business owners who use Younite360, we would like them to be able to advertise and sell their products directly on our platform. In order to do so, we need to develop a systemic approach for business users to be able to set up their product page, allow customers to browse and shop on their page (s), connect them to delivery services (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.), and provide a way for them to receive payments. Any ideas relating to this project are welcomed.

Project Name: Younite360 for business users, connecting business owners with customers

Project Description

For business owners who use Younite360, it’s not only important to set up product pages in order to begin sales, but it’s also important for business owners to connect with their customers. On Facebook, this is achieved through live streams, events, and other marketing tools to promote business presence and engage customers. Younite360 would like to do the same but bring this to a new level. Part of this project will include brainstorming and researching innovative and unique virtual marketing tools as well as implementing them to the Younite360 website.

Project Name: Younite360 for business users, the hiring process

Project Description

Small businesses and corporate businesses need personnel in order to function properly. In addition to using Younite360 as a marketing platform, we want business users to be able to complete the hiring process, from advertising vacant position to interviewing potential candidates and hiring qualified personnel, without leaving Younite360. This project will require building a database for vacant positions, resumes, and any other requirements included in the hiring process of any given business. Additionally, it will be important to connect zoom, Skype, or any other teleconference tools so business owners can interview candidates and finalize job offers.

Project Name: YouCare, a service

Project Description

COVID-19 and the need to safely distance from out loved one has made it harder and harder to perform simple tasks of caring, such as checking up on sick or old relatives and helping friends pack for/from a move. To help with that, YouCare, a platform part of Younite360, offers people with the opportunity to hire locally for wellness checks, shop for groceries, pack/unpack, etc. Ideally, people who are looking to hire would be able to post on YouCare for whatever local service they may need (i.e. someone to go pick up medicine after your surgery or someone to check up on your elderly grandparent) and respondents would be able to apply. Similar to Airbnb, both parties will be vetted through reviews posted on their profile. Part of the project will include research platforms such as Airbnb and Craigslist to help develop a fool-proof vetting process and determine how to provide users with other safety assurances.

Project Name: YouParty, a service

Project Description

As COVID-10 continues to push all activities online, we believe that Younite360 has a great opportunity to stand out by offering virtual parties to its users. Ideally, a user would be able to order food and beverages (i.e. pizza and soda from Domino’s) for party goers, provide addresses for each attendee so the food can be delivered to each individual’s location, and attend the “party” over zoom. Online games such as Scrabble, Cards Against Humanity, or Monopoly can also be available as party entertainment. These virtual parties can be applicable for birthday celebrations, farewell parties, retirement parties, etc. Teams who work on this project might have to work closely with other teams who are working on the business owner’s materials for Younite360.

FAQs

Where is the project located?

The project will be conducted remotely online. Students will not have to go into a physical space to work on the project, as long as they have access to a computer and sufficient internet connection, they should be able to perform accordingly.

How many hours will students be working per week?

This depends on whether the student is working for academic credit or for personal enrichment. If students will be working on this project for school credit, we advise that students discuss with their academic advisors on how many hours they should commit to our project. If students will be working on this project for personal reasons, we will talk with the students and help them determine the number of hours they feel comfortable dedicating to the project.

While this is not a paid position, Atwick will provide students with a gift card worth $100 at the end of the project as a token of appreciation for working with us on the project.

Who would own the intellectual property?

Atwick Inc. will be the sole owner of Younite360 and any intellectual property related to the website. Before starting their projects, students will be required to sign an NDA.

What level of guidance will the company provide?

Once Atwick begins the project, student groups will meet with Atwick engineers once a week or once every other week to discuss progress and next steps. Atwick engineers will be available for consultation and questions via email at any time.

Will students be working individually or as a team? How will they be grouped together?
