Professors Maura R. Grossman and Dan Brown are in search of a spectacular part-time URA to assist them in conducting a teaching and learning-related research study that will take place in the Winter term. The lucky student will (i) distribute to and collect information from potential study participants, including consent forms, pre- and post-questionnaires, etc., (ii) attend two classes per week to make written observations, and possibly, (iii) assist in data analysis, literature searches, and drafting of publications, with the potential for co-authorship as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational/tracking skills and will be a keen observer of human behaviour and good note-taker who can maintain personal information in confidence. Knowledge of Qualtrics is helpful but not necessary. Interest in issues involving discrimination and surveillance in computing (the topic of the two classes) and enthusiasm are a big plus.
The URA position will entail roughly eight (8) hours a week at a salary of $30.00 per hour. The position will begin as soon as a candidate is identified.
If you are interested in applying for the URA position, please send a statement of interest, a CV, and an unofficial transcript to maura.grossman@uwaterloo.ca and dan.brown@uwaterloo.ca, as soon as possible. Questions welcome.
