Co-op students may be interested in conducting full-time research and be considered for the NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA). The award has a value of $6,000 for the term with additional supervisor contributions for a total of $9640 (minimum) for the term. If you are interested in exploring the research side of academic life or if your goal is graduate studies in a field related to Computer Science, the experience of an NSERC USRA could be very helpful.
This year we encourage you to consider working on an Interdisciplinary Research Project. An Interdisciplinary Project would involve interaction between two or more disciplines, draw on knowledge from different disciplines, or train students in disciplines outside their background.
If interested in a Spring 2024 USRA, please complete the steps outlined on the CS USRA webpage by Monday March 4, 2024. Due to a limited number of awards available, we are prioritizing applications for:
research projects that meet the Interdisciplinary USRA Criteria,
student applicants who are self-identifying Black or Indigenous, or
student applicants with exceptionally outstanding academic performance/research experience.
