Postdoctoral position in smart meter data analytics at the University of Waterloo

The Information Systems and Software for Energy research group at the University of Waterloo (http://iss4e.ca) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the smart meter data analytics project.  The goal of the project is to develop algorithms and tools to analyze data from electric, gas and water meters, which can be used by businesses and individuals to decrease resource usage and save money.  Example functionalities include demand forecasting, computing consumption profiles, and identifying outliers and suspicious events.

The position is funded by the IBM Canada Research & Development Centre for one year, with an option of renewal for an additional year.  Salary will be determined by IBM Canada based on qualifications and experience.

Required qualifications: PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field, obtained within the last five years; strong publication record; experience in programming, database systems, data mining, and time series modelling.
