We are Alberto Mora (Ph.D. student under the supervision
of Dr. Joan Arnedo Moreno in IT, KISON Group at Open University of Catalonia
and Dr. Carina Gonzalez in the ITED Group at University of La Laguna) and
Gustavo Tondello (Ph.D. student under the supervision of Dr. Lennart Nacke in
the HCI Games Group and Dr. Daniel Vogel in the Cheriton School of Computer
Science at the University of Waterloo).
We are looking for volunteers to take part in an
exploratory study of user types of gameful digital applications and
personalization of gameful design elements. This research intends to explore
how different user types would prefer to personalize their gameful digital
applications in different ways. If you decide to volunteer, you will be asked
to complete a 10-15 minute online survey that is completed anonymously. Survey
questions focus on your preferences while using digital applications and games
and your preferences when gameful design elements are proposed in a different
way.
In appreciation for your time, you can enter your name
into a draw for two 50 virtual Visa gift cards (or equivalent in another
currency, aprox. $74 CAD).
We would like to assure you that the study has been
reviewed and received ethics clearance through the Ethic Committees of the involved
Universities. However, the final decision about participation is yours.
