Vanderbilt
University has just launched a $20,000 challenge to transform the
Patient Clinical Summary into an informative, highly usable,
personalized conduit for patient empowerment (http://healthappchallenge.com/).
The contest is seeking software solutions that can generate rich,
highly usable, and informative Patient Clinical Summaries. Contestants
will use a set of test patient information, data schema, and other
resources to develop applications that create modernized
Patient Clinical Summaries as part of the electronic health record.
The goal will be to achieve Meaningful Use objectives and convey
personalized health information.
The winning submission will
receive $10,000 and there will be up to 5 additional $2,000 awards.
Team registration will open May 1. The submission deadline is August 1.
