Job Description

In this role, you will help us to develop apps for iOS and macOS.
We are planning to build a new kind of end-to-end secure messaging app for multiple platforms. Most of the UI will be written in HTML and JavaScript. You will be expected to create a client application for Apple devices that wraps HTML content using web views or similar technology.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate student in computer science meeting USRA eligibility
  • Experienced in iOS/macOS development in Swift or Objective-C
  • Experienced using Git (in particular GitHub)
  • Has an app published on Apple's App Store
  • Familiar with HTML/JavaScript/CSS
  • Nice to be familiar with
    • Apple app packaging processes (e.g. creating a proper DMG file)
    • Computer networks
    • Computer security
    • Hybrid app development
The server software is already ready; we only need help with developing platform-specific frontends.

You should bring your own devices for development and testing. We do not provide Apple devices.

WatPD is currently seeking graduate students to mark reports for PD2: Critical Reflection and Report Writing from late-March to early-April. Students in this course must write a 16-20 page report which is worth 50% of their final grade. With over 1500 reports expected to be submitted, we need your help!
